About this Website

  • Is there a fee to register on this site?
    Initial registration is free of charge. When you register you create a profile which is stored in the database. This profile is accessible to registered families and caregivers to view. As a Family/Employer you can access contact information if you register as a member. Membership costs $65 CND and allows you unlimited access to contact information on all nannies for two months.

  • How do I change my profile once I have registered?
    As a registered user and Member you can access and change details on your profile. Once you have logged in as a registered user or member click the [profile] button at the top right hand side of the search results page. This will bring up your profile for viewing. Click on the [change] button. Once you have completed the changes click on the [confirm] button. If you want to change your email address please contact us by email.

  • How do I delete or reactivate my profile?
    If you would like to delete or reactivate your profile please contact us by email. Your profile is kept in our database for future reactivation.

  • How do I retrieve my password?
    When you login as a registered user or member you can access your password by clicking on the "I lost my password" button. If you still cannot access your password please contact us by email.


Families/Employers

  • Once I find an applicant on the website I am interested in meeting, what's next?
    The website is designed to assist Families/Employers find, screen and select candidates from the database of nanny/senior caregiver profiles. Once you have found some applicants you are interested in meeting you can register as a member and access contact information. At this point you can contact these Nannies/Senior Caregivers to get more information and arrange interviews.

  • I can't seem to register as a member.
    If you are having difficulty registering as a member please contact us by email.

  • I've registered as a member but I can't get access to contact information.
    All membership registrations are processed within 24 hours. You will receive an email notifying you when your membership has been activated.

  • When I am sent daily emails I am sent nannies who don't completely match my profile. Why is this?
    The website is designed to match you with suitable Nannies/Senior Caregivers based on several criteria. In the first stage of this process the matching criteria is quite general to ensure you have access to Nannies/Senior Caregivers who may meet most, but not all of your needs. This allows more flexibility in your choice of applicants. In the second stage you are given the option to fine tune your search. When you receive daily emails with a list of Nannies/Senior Caregivers that meet your general criteria there is a scroll bar at the top of the page which allows you to shortlist candidates further.

  • What sets you apart from other agencies?
    Optimum has been providing personalized childcare placement services for 18 years. We are certified Human Resources Specialists who understand the complexities involved in the hiring process. We provide professional recruitment services not just a selection of resumes.

  • Where do you find your nannies?
    Our nannies come from many sources. We recruit from our website, advertisements, job banks, employment placement services, job fairs and a well established nanny network.

  • What sort of placement guarantee do you provide?
    Optimum Caregivers Inc provides a three month no charge replacement guarantee and a prorated guarantee from 3 to 12 months of placement.

    If you wish to replace your caregiver after three months we will provide a credit from the original contract. Placement fees to replace the original Caregiver (and renew your one year contract) are as follows:

    Three to six months  : 30%
    Six to eight months  : 50%
    Eight to twelve months : 80%
